About	Eric John Petersson, 55, of Duluth, passed away on July 19, 2018. Eric was born Aug. 13, 1962, in Rochester. He graduated from Mayo High School in 1981. He obtained a degree in Graphic Design from the University of Wisconsin — Stout and most recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Lake Superior College in Duluth. Eric was a licensed general contractor and enjoyed designing, remodeling and building kitchens, bathrooms, decks, and any parts of a home that people wanted. Eric was a craftsman and the perfection in his work was greatly appreciated by those whose homes and lives he touched. Eric loved the outdoors, fishing and camping. Duluth, where he moved with his wife in 2014, was the perfect place to do all of these things. He loved the Duluth area and Lake Superior very much. Eric and his wife, Carmel, shared a deep love of animals and together were caring for three dogs, 20 rabbits and four hedgehogs. Together, they operated Petersson’s Gentle Giants, raising and breeding rabbits for 4-Hers and families to enjoy. Eric is survived by his wife, Carmel; his mother and father, Sylvia and Jerry Ramaker of Rochester; sister, Lisa Petersson (Sonia Furini) of Minneapolis; stepchildren, Tucker and Shelby Johnson; and stepsisters, Sara Sleeuwenhoek (Brad Jilek) of Birchwood, Wis., Carli Schaffner of Rochester, and Cynthia Collett of Ecuador. Eric was preceded in death by his father, John “Jack” Petersson, in February 1970; and his sister, Marta Petersson, in November 2016.
